About the SLIC Room

The SLIC (Student Learning Innovation Center) Room can be checked out by students to create multimedia projects or collaborate with fellow students. This guide details the technology & software available for Polk State students at the Lakeland & Winter Haven campuses.

 

 

How to check out the SLIC Room

Winter haven Campus

Only currently registered students can check out the SLIC Room. Student must present Student ID card at the information desk, which will be held for the duration of the 2 hour check out period. Students can  request group study rooms through http://polk.libcal.com/reserve/groupstudy (Be sure to select your campus). One or more students are permitted to use the SLIC Room during the same session.

 

Requesting instruction with software

Students are free to utilize how to videos from Hoonuit, technology instructional videos available via Passport, to learn how to use the hardware & software available. If you would like to request instruction, you may do so at the front desk, but you may have to schedule it. Feel free to contact Jarrod Jones (Winter Haven Campus) (see contact information on the right) to schedule an instruction session.
