This guide will help you locate resources in the library and online to learn more about careers, take career tests and write an essay on your chosen career.

Word Help

If you need help using Microsoft Word to type your essay, You can find it by viewing simple tutorials on Atomic Learning.

Atomic Learning is a resource available to you by logging on to Passport.  You will find AL in the left column. Enter the term "Word 2010" in the search box and select the most appropriate video from the list.  As you can see, most of the clips are just a few minutes long, but should get you started or help you work through your problem.

Lakeland Writing Center

The Writing Center is located in the TLCC.  Hours vary.  You can check the schedule by calling either 863-297-1044 (LK) or 863-297-1033 (WH).

Using the PSC Library Catalog

On the Library's homepage, click the link for Catalogs.

On the catalog screen, select Advanced Search to the right of the Basic Search. 





Here is a simple search for careers in banking.  Be sure to change the location

to Lakeland or Winter Haven.

 This screen shows how to limit the Results. On the actual screen this is on the left.  You can 

select from films, ebooks, books, articles etc.  As you can see, there are three books listed here

on the topic of careers in banking.




There is no limit on the number of books a student is allowed to check out at any time.  

Books are checked out for three weeks at a time and may be renewed online through "My Account."
