Local Resources: Get Assistance or Volunteer: Get Assistance

Search Resources

This page goes over how to search the resources for the United Way of Central Florida, which serves Polk county.

Click on the link above to be taken to the "Find Help" page on United Way of Central Florida's website. When you go to the webpage, you will be taken to a page with four squares that are labeled "Covid-19 Resources," "Search Resources," "Food Distributions," and "Free Tax Prep." You can click on the one that most describes the resources you are looking for.

If you are not sure what resources you are looking for, you can click "Click Here" (above the main four squares) to get connected with someone you can speak to. That page will also provide you with a list of services the United Way of Central Florida offers its community members.

To get connected with a representative of United Way, scroll down passed the information on services being offered through United Way until you see a section on the right, titled "Access 211." From there, you have the option to view online resources and United Way's contact information if you need to speak to someone regarding how to get services from United Way. You can also watch the corresponding video on how to get in touch with someone with United Way.

If you would prefer to search for services on your own, you can click "Search Resources" on the "Find Help" webpage. At the top of the page, you have the option to provide your zip code, city, age and gender for the best results. Below that, you can click on categories that will lead you to the best services for the type of resources you are looking for. "Storm Related Resources" has been highlighted as an example.

When you click on one of the resource categories, it will take you to a list of a few subcategories with dropdowns for all of them. Looking at "Storm Related Resources," we can see that "Food and Water" will give viewers the option to locate information on food pantries, soup kitchens, disaster related drinking water and locations where the community can get emergency supplies.
