According to the Florida Dept. of Education website, the following requirements must be met for a teaching endorsement in ESOL.
- A Bachelors or higher degree with certification in another subject, and
- Fifteen semester hours in English for speakers of other languages (ESOL) to include credit in each of the other areas specified below:
- Methods of teaching English to speakers of other languages (ESOL),
- ESOL curriculum and materials development,
- Cross cultural communication and understanding,
- Applied linguistics, and
- Testing and evaluation of ESOL.
