The following library databases contain journals and scholarly articles focused on all aspects of education, from early childhood to higher education. These databases may look slightly different, but they generally have the same features.
Below is an example of searching in the Education Source database. Since this is already an education database, you don't have to use the word education in your search. Notice that there are two ideas in the search boxes. The first box is for synonymous terms for multicultural. The second box is for synonymous terms for the United States (this can be helpful if you want to find articles that pertain to studies done in the United States). As you type your search terms, the database will provide suggestions. Feel free to pick the one that works best for your topic. Then, it is important to look over your assignment instructions and determine what limits you need to add. For this example, we are going to use the following limits under Limit your results: Full Text, Peer Reviewed, and Past 10 years. Full Text: This ensures that you can read the entire article, not just the abstract. Peer Reviewed: Your professor might call them scholarly articles. These are articles that have gone through a review process before publication. They are considered higher quality than articles that are not peer reviewed. Past 10 years: This ensures that the articles in the results were published within the last ten years.
