College Reach-Out Program (CROP)

"The College Reach-Out Program (CROP) is a statewide program created in 1983 by the Florida Legislature under section 1007.34, Florida Statutes...The primary objective of CROP is to recruit low-income, educationally-disadvantaged students in grades 6-12 and concentrate its efforts on motivating and preparing them to attend college and complete their postsecondary education." To apply for the CROP program, click Apply.

Baycare Student Assistance Program

The Baycare Student Assistance Program is a great place to turn to for students struggling with issues that "affect them both personally and academically. Whether it’s childcare, financial, legal, health, or emotional issues, the effects of these concerns can be felt in all areas of life." All Polk State students "have access to BayCare’s Personal Advantage, an online resource for help with everything from preparing for exams, to creating a personal budget, to managing stress."

Eagle Outreach 

The Polk State Pantry resides on the Lakeland campus. The main objective of the Pantry is to "provide students with discreet and confidential assistance by offering food and personal hygiene items." The Pantry accepts food and monetary donations. To make a monetary donation, click on the "Donate" button below the main information for the Polk State Pantry. For any questions, concerns, or interest in donating physical items to the Pantry, contact Kim DeRonda at  kderonda@polk.edu or (863) 669-2805. 

 

My Brother's Keeper is an organization located on the Winter Haven campus. Like the Pantry, My Brother's Keeper seeks to "provide [students with] information about and referrals to community resources, snacks and beverages, and personal hygiene items." To make a monetary donation, click on the "Donate" button below the main information for My Brother's Keeper.
