This tutorial is designed for writers new to APA Style. Learn the basics of seventh edition APA Style, including paper elements, format, and organization; academic writing style; grammar and usage; bias-free language; mechanics of style; tables and figures; in-text citations, paraphrasing, and quotations; and reference list format and order.
Here you’ll find extensive support for APA, MLA, and Chicago documentation styles. This section features instructional videos that show you how to set up your papers in APA, MLA, and Chicago formats, interactive checklists, and visual support for both in-text documenting and referencing at the end of your paper.
Click the TLCC Online Tutoring link to join and get feedback from a writing tutor.
What is involved with getting feedback from a writing tutor?
The tutor will address specific questions, as well as provide general feedback/suggestions about areas of the paper that need work; they will not proofread the paper.
The tutor will review sections of the paper and make suggestions and notes, then encourage you to apply those details to the rest of the paper and continue to review and edit.
When you submit your paper, if you would like a private conference to discuss your paper with the Writing Tutor, write "I want a conference" in the comment box along with some times that you are available. The writing tutor will get back to you through Canvas inbox.
Turn on Canvas notifications in order to receive an alert when the Writing Tutor invites you to a conference.
