Finding Books and Articles: Using the Library Catalog

A short tutorial on finding books in the catalog, using ebooks, and locating articles in databases.

Ebooks and databases are available to all currently enrolled students as well as faculty and staff. 

Students use their student ID as the Borrower ID and the last four digits of the ID as the PIN.

Faculty and staff members use their PID as the Borrower ID and as the PIN.

Using the PSC Library Catalog

To locate books in the Polk State Library, use the library's online catalog.  The catalog is on the library's web site. From the library's website, click on the link for Books/Catalog

Enter your search terms and click on search.

The top results are the most "relevant" items.
Books in the Polk State Libraries are shelved by the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) system. If you need assistance locating materials, please Ask-a-Librarian.

There is no limit on the number of books a student is allowed to check out at any time.   Books are checked out for three weeks at a time and may be renewed online through "My Account."
